Noreen F. Velky, age 56, of Newtown, died on Wednesday, August 25, 2004, at Danbury Hospital. Miss Velky was born in Bridgeport, on October 4, 1947, a daughter of the late Andrew and Auralia (Getynia) Velky. She was a graduate of Bassick High School in Bridgeport. Miss Velky was a bookkeeper and was last employed by Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Co. in Danbury. She was an avid drum corps enthusiast and had been a resident of Newtown for 35 years. Miss Velky is survived by a sister, Audrey Flynn and her husband, Lawrence, of the Sandy Hook section of Newtown; a nephew, William A. Flynn of Danbury; a niece, Laureen Montoni and her husband, Christopher, of Naugatuck; two great-nieces, Amanda and Theresa Montoni; and many cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, and at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
