Karen Silverman (Rainville)

Karen (Silverman) Rainville, age 65, died after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her three sisters. Born in Bridgeport on November 22, 1947, she was the daughter of the late William and Hilda Silverman. She was a graduate of Grahm Junior College in Boston Mass. Former owner of the French Bakery, she volunteered at St. Vincent's Hospital and was an active member of Rodeph Sholom Synagogue. Karen was predeceased by her daughter Melissa Rainville and is survived by her sisters Alane Okun (William), Barbara Newman (Barry), and Lori Babat (Eric). Karen was a loving mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend to many. The family would like to thank her wonderful doctors and the entire staff at St. Vincent's Hospital and Vitas for their special care. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 12:00pm from The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Rd. in Fairfield with interment following at Rodeph Sholom Memorial Park. Donations may be made to the Melissa Wendy Rainville Fund at the University of Bridgeport.
